Lore Labs — Alchemist

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Lore Labs, operated by Dharam Daxini ("Company", "we", "us"). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Alchemist application, including all content, features, and services offered through the application.

2. Description of Service

Alchemist is a local-first learning and content creation application that provides:

• Interactive chemistry question banks with swipe-based practice
• Session-based learning with progress tracking
• Content block creation and organization
• EPUB reading and export capabilities
• Credit-based access system for premium features

The application stores all learning data locally on your device. We do not provide cloud storage, synchronization, or backup services unless explicitly stated.

3. Account & Use

• You must be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use this application.
• If you create an account via Aporaksha (our identity layer), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
• You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account or on your device.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms.

4. Privacy & Data

Your use of Alchemist is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle data. Key points:

• Learning data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
• Payment data is processed by Stripe, Inc. and is subject to their terms.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or advertising data.

5. Intellectual Property

Our Content: All content provided within Alchemist — including but not limited to question banks, explanations, logic fields, diagrams, user interface design, source code, and documentation — is the intellectual property of Lore Labs and is protected by copyright law under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and applicable international treaties.

Your Content: Any content you create within the application (notes, annotations, session data, exported files) remains your intellectual property. By using our export features, you receive your data in portable formats (PDF, EPUB, .zay) that you own completely.

Restrictions: You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our question bank content
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
• Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to extract content from the application
• Redistribute the application or any of its components for commercial purposes

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the application for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the application or its related systems
• Manipulate credit balances, session data, or any application state through browser developer tools or external scripts with the intent to circumvent payment or access controls
• Share, resell, or sublicense access to paid content or features
• Upload malicious content, malware, or any material that infringes third-party rights
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation

7. Payments & Refunds

• Certain features may require payment, processed through Stripe.
• All prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated.
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law or at our sole discretion.
• GST and other applicable taxes are included in the displayed price.
• We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, with notice to existing users.

8. Disclaimers

The application is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• Educational content is provided for learning purposes and does not constitute professional academic advice.
• Exam scores, practice results, and progress metrics within the app are for self-assessment only and do not represent official certification or qualification.
• Since data is stored locally, we are not responsible for data loss due to browser storage clearing, device failure, or uninstallation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lore Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of access, arising out of or related to your use of the application.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the application shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lore Labs and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the application.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
• Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kutch, Gujarat, India.
• Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to attempt resolution through informal negotiation by contacting us at legal@lorelabs.in.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the application after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
